Elllie’s Rhythm Express is all about the healing power of rhythm and music, for people of all ages. Rhythm and music are found in every culture around the world. The sound of a drum beat was one of the first and most ancient forms of music. Music and creating music is our birthright. Rhythm Express is not a “class”. Ellie is facilitating a session which enables everyone to feel a sense of empowerment, support and joy. No one is expected to have perfect rhythm. Instead, as the music unfolds, entrainment begins to happen and the experience becomes magical! Drumming turns off the thinking mind, so stress and anxiety disappear and musical “flow” remains. People are free to play a wide variety of percussion instruments and drums or they can simply sit back and listen and observe if they do not wish to participate. A rhythm and music circle brings people together to share the common language of music. Rhythm, for some people, is the only way to express emotions held deep within them. There is a saying “if you can say it you can play it”. Drumming has the power of enabling people to express and release deep rooted feelings in a safe and playful way. Rhythm Express is a life enhancing experience, enriching body, mind and spirit. Music is medicine!
